Now this plugin has been around the block for quite some time now and I'm not sure why I haven't recommended it earlier but as they say: Better late than never.
Given my newfound love for it I'm going to showcase a couple of badass banks and show you why it's still a heavy hitter, capable of modern premium sounds although it's completely free to use without any restrictions.
Synth1 was created by Ichiro Toda. It's modelled after the Clavia Nord Lead 2 Red Synthesizer. It's a super light-weight plugin and even the crappiest of computers will be able to run several instances at once without crashing due to CPU and RAM limitations.
Synth1 VST Features:
- 2 Oscillators, FM modulation, ring modulation, sync, modulation envelope.
- 4 types of filters, distortion.
- 2 LFOs (synchronized with host).
- Arpeggiator (synchronized with host).
- Tempo delay (synchronized with host), stereo chorus/flanger.
- Legato mode, portamento.
- 16 notes polyphony.
- 128 presets.
- Thoroughly optimized for light CPU load using SSE instructions, etc.
- Automation.
